Fall Semester Check-in
This semester I am teaching two courses. Graphic Design: Methods & Principles (AVT311) and George Mason University, and Electronic Publishing (CMD200) at Marymount University. Because I only have seven students registered for Methods & Principles, I am able to give each student tailored and focused attention. Thus far they've submitted Project 1, an advertisement series focused on an object. The purpose to help them focus on the connection between typography and imagery. These students are highly experienced, and have a talent and understanding of design principles.
My E-Publishing class is comprised of 15 students. They are actively working on their Project 1, a design brief that will explain their design research and rationale for a non-profit organization of their choosing. These students have no design experience, so I've spent a majority of my time lecturing on the principles of design and helping them navigate their way through Adobe Indesign and Illustrator. I truly enjoy the challenge of instructing this course and hope to continue teaching at Marymount University.
I intend to use this site to document all of my teaching experience. To highlight my successes and failures, as well as post examples of student work
